"Family" photo
Under the Covers had their first official tech rehearsal last week, and for the first time had all three stars of the show present!
The night was filled with starts and stops, redos, fixing and refixing. And I'm not just talking about the production. There was so much going on, it's so hard to decide where the camera should be looking.
The Hoerner is a beautiful theatre, and the stage was so minimally designed, with just the bed (pictured) in the back right of the stage (not correct staging terminology...).
What's unique about this show is that it's following a woman's life from beginning to end. The women pictured here are all playing the same part- but at different times in their life. Cynthia Henderson, an Associate Professor for IC in the acting department, is playing the role of the lead woman at the end of her life. In the middle is Vera Mae Camel, who will be playing the lead in the beginning. Jazzy Harris, a senior musical theater major at IC, is playing the lead for a majority of the show.
So you could say this is a family photo...but in a weird, forwarding-the-space-time-continuum kind of way...
